With more than 240 Lakh pads recycled in a year that save up to 4.2 million kg CO2eq of emissions, using the 5D treatment of Disinfection, Deodorization, Disinfection, Disintegration and Deactivation with barcode tracking PadCare has been a pioneering innovator in sustainability.

Notably becoming the first SME in India to attain a prestigious GreenCo Platinum rating, transforming the factory into a zero-waste facility. The commitment to environmental stewardship is further exemplified by the use of solar power, accounting for 40% of the energy consumption, and implementation of rainwater harvesting since 2015. What stands out is SA Glass’s innovative approach, in creating a greenhouse utilizing 30,000 PET bottles to make their own food produce and sustaining its kitchen entirely on biogas since 2015. Moreover, the company’s dedication to community impact is evident through the installation of 20 biogas plants at villages in Satara District that completely fulfils their electricity needs.

Having represented the country at different forums and impacted India’s youth with more than 500 presentations on Climate Change at colleges, corporates through the ALERT initiative and authoring several books notably, ‘Green India Clean India’ and ‘Swapna Udaychi- Sundar Jagachi’ which truly speaks of your passion for sustainability.

PCMC under your leadership has been aggressively promoting sustainable governance practices having established the sustainability cell in PCMC to address environmental issues along with 32 RRR Reduce Reuse and Recycle centres across the city. Some other notable achievements include Installation of 35 sensors to monitor Air quality, setting up a 200 TPD C&D waste recycling plant and a hotel waste to biogas project which processes 50t of daily wet waste to generate 50 to 60 m3 of biogas. Other projects initiated focusing on impact include 1,80,000 Electric Vehicle’s by 2026; plastic to fuel project, city heat action plan and 3097 kW Renewable Energy project.
